Sorry Rob but I beg to differ. The tyres on my wheels weigh far more than the alloy, so it's figures more rubber = heavier wheel.

Mmm I'm surprised by that little stat but then you learn something every day.
Are any of those vouching for 16s doing so having made the comparison with 15s on the same rubber compounds?

Personally I would prefere 17's,but try as I can no body seems to want to buy a nice set of staggered 16's,or even swop for a set of staggered 17's.

Tyre choice is better for the 17's too.

I'm sure 16's handle better too but since the coilovers came off that went out of the window too :( ,fillings no longer fall out though :D

Mine has Toms rear and sides with 16" rims i think it looks good. though i'm gonna change the front tyres to have a slightly higher profile so they look more in line with the backs.

Rears are - 16x8" ET38 245/45/16
Fronts are - 16x7" ET35 cant remember current tyre sizes but can check (will probably replace with 215/45/16).

I would go for a 205/50-16 at the front, its 608 mm,this will compare well with the 245/45-16 at 626 mm.

This may help http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

The 215/45/16 is closer to the stock rolling radius and you'd end up with a better (well I think) stagger.
