Timing belt service on a Beams engined Rev 5?

Post by DaveofEdinburgh »

Hi all,

Looking at purchasing a Beams engined Rev 5 MR2 as a daily driver. Car has fairly low mileage (62kish) but theres no receipt for the timing belt being done.
My query is: how much does the belt change cost on a Beams car? Obviously Id do other servcie bits if it was having this done such as fluids and filters.
Just after a ballpark figure really, I know the Beams-engined cars are fairly rare (approx 1000 built?). Also, are there any parts exclusive to the Beams MR2 that are extremely expensive or difficult to source?

Nothing special cambelt wise.

Expect to pay £200ish plus belt.
