[Mk2] [NA] Alarm and key fob

Post by timmy10x »

Hi ive just bought a rev 5 na which came with a key fob that was dead. I've replaced the battery in the keyfob so that the light now comes on, however my car still doesn't lock/unlock, do i need to reset the alarm? and how do i do it? Think its a factory fitted alarm.
Cheers for your help!!!

the manual says hold both buttons down for a few seconds to syncronise your fob with the car providing its a factory fitted alarm

Just been reading a few items relating to the door issue. As ive got one on mine to. However its slightly different. It does lock the doors as mentioned doing it from the passenger side..not drivers.Or using the lock door switch inside. However i cant get it to work at all with the plip.

Any ideas,

Thanks,

This corrects fobs that have become unsynced with the car, not sure if it will do anything but worth a try.

Worked on mine (thanks Hilly)

Take battery out of fob.
Get well away from car.
Press down both fob buttons for 30 seconds
Re-assemble fob.
Go to car press unlock twice.
