[Mk2 NA] painted your rear STRUT BRACE ???

Hi Ya'll,

Bought another rear strut as mine is rusting away,
was thinking of spraying it with a can of super red2 from Halfrauds(to match the body).

The problem is I noticed that the strut gets pretty hot from the engine.
Do any of you recon this might effect the paint?

Anyone done this already?

Glad you said about the paint needing to be heat resistant cos i've been toying with the idea of re-spraying mine for a while now and never really considered the heat factor.

I sprayed mine on my old NA with artic silver from halfords, did not have any problems whatsoever with cracking etc....was fine for 6 months then i sold it.

I'v sprayed mine and had no probs whatso ever.

Think about it!!!!!!
The engine bay is sprayed and that is the same distance from the engine as the strut bar is.

Mine's a turbo so it gets even hotter but I've had no problems with the paint on mine (been done for a year or two now).

I used Hamerite, to do mine..... dead easy... did it in no time.
