Nice to see somebody getting stuck in and sorting out their car.
Makes a change from the usual "My ashtray is full so I'm parting the car out on eBay" stuff I see. :thumleft:

One top tip about painting sills:-
After priming the sill you can mask off the top half of the sill (the part you can see from the side of the car) and then paint the underneath of the sill with whatever you can get your hands on to absorb stone-ships.
Deliberately use a different colour of paint for this. Something like black.
It might sound a bit naff but brush-applied hammerite is very good because it never dries properly hard. It always remains slightly flexible so it absorbs damage without chipping off.
After you've applied something to prevent stone-chips to the underneath of the sill, remove the masking and then apply the top-coat of red to the entire sill.

Once you've done this any stones that chip off the red top-coat will reveal the black paint underneath and will be easy to spot and repair at leisure.
