[Mk2] [NA] Car turning over but not starting

Post by Awilkinson75 »

Major snag... Firstly to let you know Ive just fitted a replacement alternator on to the car and fixed the wiring on the lambda sensor, if these fixes may have any reverlance to the problem. I have also added extra fuel just incase that could be the problem but to no avail. Engine warning light constantly on. Need to fix it in next 24 hrs for work, please help asap, many thanks, Andy ](*,) [/list]

have now hopefully found the problem, there is a leak on the fuel line that goes from on the engine just above the alternator right round to the front left corner of the engine bay in front of the left rear wheel, no idea where in going to get a replacement from, must have knocked it when i was moving alternator in and out of car, bloody thing really beginning to p1$$ me off.

yeah thats the one, presuming there wont be enough pressure being produces in the line, have taken end off attached to engine and fuel spilt out so not bloked hopeing it is down to the leak. I believe the dizzy cap to be sound as it started for a few seconds today then died, which means its getting a spark. Any suggestions? Andy

new fuel line fitted, and car running. The only other thing I have noticed since starting it is that it is idling at 2000 revs and automatically drops to 1500 then back up, over and over again, any ideas on this problem please?
