WIERD THERMOSTAT ????

hi all

i managed to removed my thermostat well it only had the top bit connected. half the thermostat looked like it been removed or cut off.

i managed to connect the toyota thermostat now and bolting it all back on. had to replace the oil filter tho. that was in my way on my turbo rev2.

why you recon it only had half the thermostat . if that was removed the be no seal . you recon it was kept just for the seal. why not replace the whole unit like me???

unless the previous owner had some sort of overheating problem and modded it to allow the coolant to constantly flow?

replaced the thermostat and coolant. now it holds prefect half way with no issues.

they could have done it as a pikey mod to keep engine temps constantly down, not really very benefitial though if its constantly running the coolant

well its holding half way temp. brilliant hot blowers and doesnt look like its leaking coolant. so all good so far lol:)
