Ok here goes ....Can anyone help me? Does the side strip trim on the mrk 2 remove easily please? ........ just bought a yellow mrk 2 tbar and some idiot has painted them GOLD!!!!  would like to return them to original....and am i correct in assuming the original colour was black?

any help appreciated cheers :)

Gold with yellow strips was a factory colour, they remove easily enough, the trickyest part is getting the nuts off from in behind the interior trim, under the rear speaker, all the strips have nuts holding them on apart from the ones on the door, they are suprisingly flexible too so don't worry about bending them a little, they bend right back again:)

If you really want to do the car a favour, paint them yellow, rev3 onwards came with body coloured strips:) looks much better in my opinion:) :thumleft:

i didnt fancy snapping bolts or bending mouldings very easy on car, credit card to push masking tape behind moulding scotch pad to take off nasty bits, wet and dry, primer, paint and laquer job done. :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:
she's all comming together nicely now after a fair bit of cash spent, not bad for just an n/a now for some body kit i think.

this is deffo easier than taking of the strips, well, it's not that it's easier, it's just that as nofear said, it saves snapping the bolts, the ones under the rear arches are particularly prone for snapping :thumleft:

Whatever happened to her? Last I remember (over 3 years ago now!) the engine had let go, again lol, and you had a plan for her.......There were rumours of a V8 RWD conversion :?: :!:
