Hard to say without taking the sump off and checking the internals.

Personally i would walk away from it as could need a new engine fitted.

I dont think it costs too much if you do the labour your self (replacing the shells and bearings), but seeing as you are asking, im assuming you wont. Also depends if the crank is damaged aswell.

Because of the amount of labour, it can cost quite a bit, thats why many people would just get a healthy 2nd hand engine put in.

All depends on how cheap the car is really!

he had 1 bid on previous listing for £600 so why didn't it sell?

Photos were took in wet so does look shiny but could be dull.

He has no feed back whatsoever and the last one i saw on ebay which stated slight knock turned out to be a piston straight through the side of the block. And the amount of engines i have ripped out of MR2's with bottom end knocking is a joke, all ranging from holes on block to disintegrated pistons

If your going to buy it then take it as it needs a new engine fitted. A Rev2 bare recon tubby engine go for around £750 without fitting. If your not fitting it yourself aloow another £700-£1k for fitting.

Just save and buy a good one.

Agree with Alan, you dont know its history, if its been starved of oil, everything will be shagged.. budget a complete engine.... :thumleft:

As far as I'm concerned, any MR2 turbo thats engines not functioning is a mechanical write off... and unless you're handy with your hands, will cost a fortune to rectify..
