[Mk2] [Turbo] Apexi Power FC Mapping

Post by mr2_rich01 »

Hi Guys,
Just bought a brand new apexi power fc yesterday from GTSChris with commader and was wondering where is the best place to set these up properly.. the car details are as follows

standard ct20b turbo refurbished with steel insides not ceramic
arc sidemount intercooler
de-cat downpipe
mongoose exhaust
gizzmo ebc

i have also just finished the engine build it has a rev2 block with rev3 head using cp pistons and alc race bearings and all the arp fastners..

i would really appreciate some advice on where to go for the mapping as i have spent a lot of money on this engine and would like it setting up properly, also any estimations of bhp and torque figures?

Thankyou in advance Rich

Definitely Ryan 2bar tuning mate. He's mobile and normally uses RS Tuning in Leeds for mapping oop north. I'll be going getting finish mapped there with him. Top top top fella! When you thinking of mapping?

Apparently if you say his name three times whilst looking into a mirror at midnight, you get banned from IMOC :-$

You can do it either way, but IMO the best way is to have it done on the dyno, then final tweaks made on the road. Bit more pricey but worth it I think.

personally i would prefer to get it done the other way round, road first then tweaked on the dyno, mainly to minimise time on the dyno
i have been to rs in leeds, they have the one huge fan at the front which is good for a charge cooler, slightly less so for a boot mount and even less so for a side mount
well, i say good but i do not beleive there is a fan out there that could simulate the sort of road speed/wind speed you need for a 4th gear pull

Agree, Ryan mapped mine on the run down to SRR and then carried out final tweaks on the dyno.

agreed. Mine has been mapped on the road and going to be finish mapped on dyno. (also to hope my boost pipes stay on to run more boost!)

Spoke to Ryan, the car is booked in for either the 21st or 22nd of jan, I will let you guys know how t goes.. Would you guys recomend replacing the fuel pump or will the standard one be ok.. It's just I can't be bothered dropping the tank off with the weather so cold.. Also do you think I should run a colder grade spark plug if so which ones?

Again
Cheers guys

When i was there, they had a smaller portable fan that he put underneath my bootmount aswell as the main fan?

been a while since i was there
it makes sense for any dyno to have auxiliary fans to accommdate cars such as ours
