Hi all. Hope you've had a fantastic xmas season. Ok, so i have a blueflame exhaust fitted to my 2 and it's far too loud for my liking. The entire system has been replaced from the turbo back and i am looking for ways to quieten it down a bit. I do not wish to change the exhaust if possible as i very much like the look of it. So i was thinking that maybe i could chop a chunk out of another part of the exhaust (maybe downpipe?) and weld in some sort of universal silencer? Not been able to find anything to suit yet online. Any ideas/suggestions would be very much welcomed. Thanks, Mark.
I found the same thing with my blue flame. I actually rigged up an exhaust butterfly valve on one side to quiten things down.
Alongside this, i had the tailpipes changed for 2 x twins. This in itself made a massive difference in the boominess, even with the exhaust valve wide open.
Sorry, they are not quick fix answers ! but just to let you know what i found worked.
The exhaust bungs would reduce the noise as mentioned above, i dont know how much power loss they would incur - maybe not even noticeable.
