LSD for 4A-GE?

Post by rexer200 »

Just done a bit of a search but not come up with much.
I know that the plate type LSD's are available from TRD, Kaaz and torque biasing LSD from Quaife. All these options are £600+, just wondering if there are any other options?

Can I get a box that fits the AW11 with 4A-GE with LSD already fitted?
I think there were some C52's with LSD's from FWD but I know these need gear linkage swapping.

Anyone on here got a 4A-GE (not supercharged) with LSD? What's it like?

I have seen LSDs for the C52 on ebay for around 2-300 (TRD), it might just be a case of keeping an eye out.

I have a trd helical lsd in mine. you just have to keep an eye out on ebay worldwide, but once you've had the box rebuilt (you really dont want to fit the lsd to a 100k 20yr old box do you?) its expensive

But am I right in thinking you have a S/C's Mk1 which uses a different box? I'm after an LSD for a N/A Mk1 fitted with the C52 box

That's great news! Do you want to sell it??
I'll contact TTE Germany and see how much they'll charge for it.
My car has only done 55k miles from new but I'd change the bearings and syncros in the box when fitting anyway.

Can you confirm, are you using std N/A drive shafts??

Also, how does it compare to the open diff?

Tim i could be wrong but that looks like a Torsen type diff, the best one to have in my opinion.

:thumleft: yarp, I think its torsen but its marketed by TRD as helical (I think) possibly a translation thing.

Personally I just like looking at it, a little bit of car porn.

try searching for EP82 LSD's as the TRD part numbers are the same, so they should fit, and there are more of them

If anyone can get the TRD part number then there's the skinniest of chances I could source one.
