might only be 150 but 150 of torque too, thats more than any vtec and more than my old rover 2.0 turbo diesel

i currently have a ST24 mondy
andi love it..
its the second one i have had.

its been superchipped and see around the 180
(if not a little more) hp
and the sound of the v6 is great so comfy as well..
but good for a laugh round the back roads
(you would be surprised)
i like fords they are good for what you pay for(i paid 400 squid for mine)

i was thinking along the lines of civic/teg type r's
but after checking there are some that have marginally more than 150

Common myth.Vtecs often have very good torque for their displacement and being N/A, they just dont have much displacement.

And also the BHP is grossly higher than the torque.![]()
Example being that the Fiesta is 150bhp and 150lb of torque.![]()
A Civic Type R is 200bhp and 145lb torque.![]()
I would guess a lot of this is to do with the redline, am I correct in thinking torque tails off at about 5k but a V-tec goes until 9k?
So at about 5k the V-tec could well be making almost identical figures to the Fiesta..

Well the Fiesta actually only makes 140lb to the CTRs 145lb
, but yeah due to the vtec cam timing and lift it continues to make this torque past 6000rpm which equals more bhp.

Still better than getting the scraper out of turning the heaters on full blast!
