I once got stuck in a blizzard on the M1 for 8 hours in a fully veilside kitted rev3 turbo. Actually once I got out of the traffic the roads and LSD were a lot of damn good fun. I even dumped the clutch to bring the car sideways and get up my fairly steep drive, LOL.

It's the others out and about you've got to look out for.

Get out there and drive in the snow!

Give me a rear wheel drive car in the snow over a FWD car anyday! Much more controllable :thumleft:

+1 A friend of mine whose a rally driver always says "Get out there and enjoy it, it's the only way you will learn!" He right I think, in the worst case your life could depend on it.

I didnt quite want to risk it today however as the car park where i park the 2 is on a pretty steep slope with some angry looking iron gates that would litterally decimate it if it slid into them :S -horrible thoughts-

my friend who used to import jap cars and i help him of the collection of them from the port of tyne where they come off the ship, most of them had snow chains in the back of them,so i looked for a good set , easy to fit (no need to jack car up :thumleft: ). nice and tidy on ,come with own bag and set of destruction, instructions.in the boot just in case.
for how easy and quick they are to be fitted every one should have them

would snow chains damage your alloys?

i had fun in the snow today i had to clear the 5th floor of our car park and as a manager i dont mind getting my hands dirty and found a novel way of doing it, my car is a daily driver so rain or snow it gets used not like some of the show stoppers on here then again thats how they stay mint i suppose.

take one car park complete with 3 inches of snow and one rear wheel drive car.
Image
after a bit of drifting which i nearly used a qtr of a tank of petrol and then i cleared it with shovels and brooms.
heres the beast after the fun.
Image
and then after i spent 4 hours making it safe for the public to use.
Image
on the way home i treated her to a jetwash to get all the salt of the old girl but she done me proud, people that crash in snow cant drive or are just being stupid trying to lose control i had 3 front wheel drive rs turbo's all depends on how you drive,
i have cheap unbranded tyres on my car and still handles well i love the snow cheap drifting without wearing out your tyres. :thumleft: :thumleft:
she's all comming together nicely now after a fair bit of cash spent, not bad for just an n/a now for some body kit i think.

ive always been into rear wheel drive cars you cant beat them, i had a mint sierra xr4i 2.8 that was a lot of fun used to pull over 70 in second the police hated me for it such a young guy driving such a powefull car, i used to be able to spin it all the way down the high street. had the ar$e out one day chasing one of my friends in an escort cosworth at 70 mph must say my ar$e did go.

sadly to say i was a rear wheel drive escort man mk 1's and 2's always wanted a brooklands capri funny enough,

mr2's arent meant for the snow... it takes me twice as long driving when its really bad. its ok when the raods are gritted but when there not.. the car is like a sledge.

my mr2 is nicely tucked up in the garage, hadnt used it for a week, so started it up and let it run up to temp just to keep things ticking over. I dont even take mine out in the rain, let alone the snow! lol

i had mine to work the first little show we had and that was bad enough, normal cars were going fine yet i went by a car that was turning of and tried to keep it of boost but xxxx, it just spun 180 facing wrong way in the road.

now we have proper snow mines round back of the house out the way, id love to go out and have a play but id want to trailor it there first, if it clears up a bit i may be brave and try find an open space and try to play catch the rear at low speeds ;)
