[Mk2] [NA] oh what to do

head gasket is going and i need a clutch on my rev 2 n/a been quoted 1500 to have the work done ? engine has done alot of miles so i am racking my brains of what to do. i cant do the turbo swap as the insurance is to much. Any recomendations? :idea: :?

im sure you would get it alot cheaper than that if you ask pacific works or TGT

I'll second that. My recent clutch was £310 for parts and fitting at Pacific Works... I reckon it'll be about the same again for the HG. :thumleft:

PS If you want to economise further you could always sell the air scoop and that way you'd have, what?.... £100 back towards costs AND a better looking car as a result.

mine cost £130 for an exedy clutch from ebay and pacific was £180 i believe to fit.

been having a think and may replace the engine and doa few bits to the head?

where is a good place to get a recon engine? ](*,)
