I have had my Rev5 NA recently converted to a Turbo. I took it to a rolling road last weekend to find out what it was producing.
Now i am very happy with the results. I believe the engine is stock apart from Blueflame exhaust, Apexi induction and HKS bov. It is running the standard ECU with the CAT
Comments welcome as I use this car as my daily runner and i don't want it to go pop.

hhmm not sure what other people think but i would like to see the afr's a tad richer at top end, pushing towards 280 i would want it down towards the 10's.
also thats a very good result for only like 12psi.
AFR is fine, nothing to worry about. The stock map is far too rich, you can gain more power making it leaner to about the 11:1 mark when on full boost.
Looks like if your boost hadnt tailed off that you would have made more power in the top end, possibly another 5-10hp. May be worth looking at a boost controller of some sort.
Good numbers considering the cat is still in place
Decat, boost controller and a chargecooler and you'll be tipping 300 easy.

Why would the boost have tailed off towards the end?
I need the cat for MOTs unfortunately. Can a remap been done on a standard ECU? If so what are the costs.
I have a warranty on my transplant/engine so nothing will be done in the for see able future, plus its a bit slippery out there.
Boost always seems to tail off a bit on the stock controller, mine did but was less pronounced than that, most likely as I have a decat.
You may find that with a decat you'll scrape through the emissions test, either that or bung the MOT bloke a £20 to stick the sensor up the exhaust of another car
The stock Rev3 ECU is not remappable, yet. Theres a guy on TwoBrutal who has cracked the ECU and is currently putting together a daughterboard/software package so you can remap it. http://forums.twobrutal.com/showthread.php?t=15236
I'm due to get one of the first batch of boards in the new year sometime. Hopefully this will develop into a cheap reliable way to remap the Rev3+ ECU.

From what i have heard to get 274 on 0.8 bar boost is good.
Out of interest - how do you adjust the fuelling with standard ecu?
Im hoping to get mine rolling roaded if i keep it and was wondering what i would get with 1bar on mbc, decatted cat(!), custom exhaust 4" twin, hks air filter - everything else standard.

You cant at the moment without changing the ECU or putting a piggy back ECU such as an Emanage on there. As I said above that is likely to change early next year though.

I don't know. It look standard to me. I am new to turbo's. I have owned an NA for about 5-6 years on and off. This is my first turbo
This is engine before it went in.
Power curve is almost identical to mine which as far as I know has a stock turbo.
Mines just shifted to the right a bit, I guess because of the decat.

yeah a electronic boost controler should definatly be your next perchase then a trip back to the RR to get the boost set up properly. an EBC should 99% cure the tail off, but some degree of tail off is normal and will happen whatever the sercumstances.
can a rrfpr not be used to help lower the afr's? or will it just decrease fuel rail pressure?... i've used them alot on other cars but never a mr2 so wouldnt no how well they work, if at all lol

Yep, if you fitted an adjustable FPR and then reduced base pressure, it would just reduce rail pressure, which in turn would lean the entire map off. Not good

ah yeah thats what i thought...mine runs very rich, guess i better start saving up for a piggyback haha
