Bioethanol requires lots more injector capacity than straight petrol, something to consider.

Yeah, very high octane, but lower amount of energy than petrol, so you have to use more of it!

Bioethanol has about 33% less energy so you need to made everything bigger... Look my garage and you see what it needs to get work well...

just my mate runs his mr2 turbo on it and says it makes a big difference?

and thats only got exhaust/de-cat/uprated clutch, lightend flywheel + charge cooler?

possible as an octane booster yes, but not sure about large quantaties.

was under the impression that methanol eats into alloy tho. iirc the MR2 has an alloy head?

he was running 20L v power + 20L of this other bio ethanol.. hmm

He should be careful about slinging bioethanol in his tank, it will alter the AFR and may cause rubber components in the fuel system to wear out prematurely.

Without a way of monitoring AFRs I wouldnt like to say.

As far as I am aware petrol that contains bioethanol over here, tesco 99 is the only one off the top of my head, only contains 5% bio.

yeah. i 9 out of 10 put in tesco 99 rather than v power.
