No More DIY Turbo / V6 Conversions????

Post by Steve-O 2007 »

Saw this on another forum -

Is this the end of all the DIY Turbo and V6 Conversions???

Seems a bit stupid realy as people will still do it but now just not bother registering it / changing the details...

F*ck 'Em i say!!!

My V5 makes me laugh i could list my car as anything:

Make: Toyota
Model:
Varient:
Version:
Fuel Type: Petrol
CC: 1990

And thats about it...

Legislation seems pointless with cars like mine being registered, i maen it could be anything!!!

my car is an import and my log book mentions nothing about it being a turbo. altho when quoting the reg to insurance it does come up as a mr2 gt turbo. the log book says engine code .... unkown. so i guess you could put anythin in there and get away with it.

im surprised the insurance company can even find your plate being as its an import!

Every imported plate number that ive thrown at the car insurers, they can never find it!

Surely the engine transplantt means the car is now classed as a kit car?

Does this also mean the end to the likes of Lo-cost, Dax, Caterham etc? I know some of these produce cars as "production" models, but for the most they are still kit cars, especially the home biulds.
