After taking the car on the motorway the other day I slowed for petrol and began experiencing a rear cluncking noise coming from the rear drivers side wheel.

I inspected around the tyre and got underneath to find nothing out of sorts.

It sounds almost like theres something in the tyre thats knocking against the arch or chassis everytime the wheel revolves.

.Affter leaving the car for a period of time

(overnight) the noise is gone!!
If I maintain at average suburban speeds theres nothing.

.so far.

This has been going on for a month now and im going mad, the only slight thing I can find is theres a tiny tiny amount of play in the right hand driveshaft.

The bearings have been done on bothe rears about 7 months ago so I wouldnt have thought this is the culprit either.

I know this is vague but thought Id ask

Thanks!
