1993 GT Turbo , small update
the story so far ! 3 weeks ago i got a call off a fellow mr2 owner . he asks me whether i want to buy a tubby ! i said nah m8 , i am skint . he then tells me about this mr2 turbo at a house he is working at ( he's a painter and decorater ) its a 1993 gt turbo done 50 k and is totally standard and a perfect untouched example. now i am listening he says its been owned by a woman since 2002 ! and has passed away and her husband just wants rid of it now ! how much are my next words ?? maybe around £2000 probably a bit less so within 10 mins i arranged to go have a look . soon as i saw it i just knew , its the genuine thing ! being a painter and having a trained eye i inspected closely and i was impressed ! believe me when i say i am fussy , i am not a lover of black cars because its such a hard colour to keep on top of so to speak , but this car is fantastic for its age next i hear it run , and from cold sounded smooth and no smoke the interior is half leather and swade which i really like . it has abs brakes , them fog lamps that steer ( like them as well ) air con , a sub behind each seat that work . at this stage i hadnt drove it and wanted it!. but soon as i got into 2nd gear i was having the car everything checked out and i was having it ! i got talking to the guy and he showed me receipts for work his wife had done etc , and he said whatever it wanted , she got . it failed its mot on the brakes and it was due to the pads worn down. so she put new discs and pads all round i was looking at another receipt for the turbo ! aparently it was smoking slightly and she had it reconditioned a large bill so i bought it for £1700
the first pic i taken of the car doesnt have the standard wheels on because i did a deal with someone and did a swap. i was going to put the wheels on off my n/a and i didnt want to put standard wheels back on the n/a because i figure it looks better on after market wheels as i am now selling the n/a.
stock rev 2 turbo minus the wheels
since buying this car ive set about it ! a bit !
ive put a rev 3 rear light conversion on it and done the quad lights .
ive put a japspeed exhaust on and gutted the cat
the cat
momo steering wheel and lockwood white dials
its had cam belt and all other belts done now. the speedo has been converted but the mileage was still reading in kilometres. when working out what the mileage would be it turned out to be 49636 miles .
i was gonna up the boost to 0.9 but it was already at 1.0 when we checked !
i had a look at the reciept for the turbo repair and called the company up to find out what exactly had been done . i explained i had just bought the car and was trying to find out as much history about it . its had the full monty and is strongly built ! the bill was for £490 so i am pretty chuffed its like new.
future plans , not sure . but i will lose the toblerones and put the uk strip in place . dont know whether i want crystal clear or smoked sidelight/indicators ??? also if someone can point me in the right direction ! the indicators at the back of the front wings (small ones) where do i get clear / smoked ones from ???
few pics from today
any opinions welcome

now you mention it ! i was thinking of rewireing it to one of the reverse lights in the centre panel . so one side would be clear and one red !
opinions on this mod ?

I've done this on mine. Cut the feed on the reverse light in the right rear cluster and re-fed with my fog light feed and whacked a red bulb in there. Also have a 10A inline fuse in the fog light feed to be on the safe side.
Job's a good un
