[Mk2] [Turbo] fuel warning light stays on

as title says,
filled up the car and the fuel warning stay on,
any suggestions??

Stuck ball in sensor

There are 2 sensor in the tank one does the guage, (arm and float) the other does the warning light (ball in a tube, I think).

Take the stereo surround and ashtray out you will find the tank sensor under the ashtray area.

Remove the sensor assembly and have a look, thinks its a little ball in a tube that does the level sensor its probably stuck.

I would suggest you open your windows and disconnect battery as the fumes are quite bad especially if you have a full tank now (best done when it low really).

hi mate
stripped out the area today, but can't locate where the tank sensor is?
have taken a picture could you try and locate it for me

The triangle shape in the middle of the picture with the wires going through the rubber.

Take this off and underneath should be the sender in the tank. :thumleft:
