[Mk2] [NA] My Matt Black Bonnet! Opinions Welcome!

Post by mk2too »

Well finally bit the bullet and sprayed my spare £5 bonnet black! Only done quickly as a laugh and i have my old red bonnet to put on so there was no worries!

from some angles it looks 'cool' i use cool loosley though! i think it looks a bit retro, and other angles it just looks like either a. i've rattled canned my bonnet or b.had an accident and im mid repairing!

whats everyones thoughts! -Any comments welcome!

theres a few posts coming up about matt black stuff. and i like it. altho it looks a bit odd cos you have nothin else to match, maybe do your mirrors and spoiler and it would work.

I'm glad to see one done on a red car in the flesh. Has made me realise that it would need some other bits done perhaps to make it a bit more subtle if thats even possible. :thumleft:

yeah one of us had to bite the bullet! :D It defo needs the mirrors, spoiler or headlights colour coding to, it just sticks out like a sore thumb atm, or even black wheels would help!

But the minuite you start painting you can't stop so im going to remove it today and leave that to you my friend

Itsnice to see some one doing this sort of thing!

I am unsure! Mainly because all of the Garys around my way paint thier bonnet in a similar fashon to try and replicate a Carbon look.

I need to replace my bonnet so i might try and get one in Astrial Black or whatever it is!

I like the diffrent approach to things you have :thumleft:

Well I've got the black wheels and I've got spare bonnet and light covers so will probs have a go myself. May do the whole top half though. Will wait and see how I get on with time once the car's back.

Matt / Satin black is always gonna get a :thumleft: from me.......!

Go on...do the rest of the car, now...the bonnet looks lonely (apart from the spoiler lip...! )

harwood yours is a good example of how it can look good but that was a bit further than i wanted to go, i've put my red bonnet back on now so im 'repaired' now  no harm done!

it could look good with the lights, roof, maybe spoiler etc.. picked out but alas someone with bigger cohonas than me will have to do that!

Hi Mk2too,

My brother had the same done a while back.

Looks great on a red car but not too keen on having the light covers done too. Keep it!!

looks like a big tetris shape on your car

Carbon would look better, just looks like you cant afford to paint it lol

Each to their own tho :cyclops:
