MK1 Supercharger - Mika Blue T-Bar - 180bhp - Price dropped

Post by Captain Vimes »

I've recently bought a mk3 turbo and so I have to sell my mk1 SC. I'd always wanted a mk1 SC after my previous na mk1 and it hasn't disapointed me at all! This car is such good fun to drive and I'm still not sure whether to sell it. :(

Details:-
- Genuine Jap import Supercharger, imported in 1998
- 125k miles
- I've owned for 2 years now and have loved every drive
- 12 months MOT (sailed straight through last weekend)
- Lots of history with the car from when it was imported and including all the bits I've done:-

Mods:-
- Magnex exhaust system
- K&N cone filter in boot
- NST 180mm crank pulley (approx 180bhp - fitted about 4k miles ago)
- Polly bushed suspension + geo setup to TRD settings (or as close as was possible with standard adjusters)
- Yellow stuff front pads and new discs
- Red stuff rear pads and drilled discs
- TSW Black Ice alloys (completed less than 5k miles) with A539 yoko tyres
- MOMO tuner steering wheel
- UK clocks/dash (have pictures of old dash and new side by side for mileage purposes)
- Cat2 approved immobiliser
- Remote central Locking
- Remote control JVC MP3 headunit with infinity speakers (but it still sounds rubbish :( )

Maintainence completed recently:-
- Replacement gearbox & fitted brand new clutch - refilled with MT90 oil (no 3rd gear synchro problems!)
- New dizzy cap and rotor arm about 3 months ago
- New spark plugs (fitted with NST pulley)
- K&N cleaned and re-oiled

Bad bits:-
- Some rust - it's been there since I got it and it's never bothered me enough to sort and has had no probs at MOT time. On o/s rear arch, n/s below rear bumper and just above windscreen.
- Interior - Dash has some cracks where it has gone brittle in the sun, some of the plastics on the t-bar panels are broken and some bits (switches) have been replaced with parts from a black interior. Again, none of this botherred me as it doesn't affect the driving...
- both front and rear bumper have small scuffs from car park scraps (previous owner)

Not sure what it'll sell for in the current market, but with all things considerred I'm looking for £2500.

PM me for more details or call me on 07940 488028.

Cheers,
Kev

Just to add that the car is currently taxed until end July. If there's interest in the car in the next week or so I'll leave the tax. Otherwise I'll redeem it while waiting for a sale...

Also, thought I should mention that the car has non standard springs/dampers (lower & stiffer). I forgot to add to original description but you could probably tell from the pics.

Thanks :D

Thought I'd add an update to the thread as I got some work done yesterday.

In the whole time I've had the car I'd never removed the black triangles that hide the bottom of the sills by the rear arch. I removed them last weekend to have a poke around and discoverred that the near side was suprisingly rust free for a 21 year old car :)

However, the off side required some welding. So it's now been sorted - pics below. Obviously this whole section is coverred by the black plastic so the car looks the same as it did before but obviously this should give peace of mind to any potential buyers.
(Note that the axle stand is not supporting the car on the floor - it's only there as safety).

Repair in progress...

..and nearly completed.

Right, I got my mk3 running today so I want to move the mk1 on soon.

Hence price dropped to £2k ono

Please note that the car is NOT in showroom condition and could do with the rust sorting to make it perfect - happy to e-mail pics on request.

It's a genuine SC that's mechanically excellent - completely reliable and fantastic fun. It's also still taxed and I'll leave it on now as I'll put it on ebay next week if it doesn't sell to a club member first.
