Re: Blitz Access ECU (rev1)

A boost controller and boost gauge will be sufficient to control boost. It's hard to give any guarantees at all as raising boost pressure stresses other components - and much of that will depend on the state of your components at the moment. I do remember that the Blitz ECU ran rich ie more fuel (ra...

Re: Blitz Access ECU (rev1)

Right you are, I just double checked. I used this a number of years ago so really couldn't remember if I had a boost controller fitted while using the ECU. It turns out that I was. So retracting my previous point that this raises boost pressure - it doesn't. It has fairly aggressive fuel/timing maps...

Re: Blitz Access ECU (rev1)

It raises boost pressure just as your standard ECU runs the turbo at 8-9psi. The Blitz ECU removes the fuel cut (which is a problem with raising boost pressure using a boost controller on a factory ECU) and also increases the pressure at which it runs. From memory it was about 16-18psi. Some people ...

Blitz Access ECU (rev1)

Selling my Blitz Access ECU for an SW20 Turbo Rev1. This thing is pretty good: - Direct replacement for standard ECU - Alters the ignition and fuel curves to increase performance - Fuel cut removed, so boost can be raised with the use of a boost controller (it's been a while, but I think I was runni...

Hey RyanRs

I just saw your post! I really don't want to get the itch again haha.. I may consider a new turbo at some point - but that's another rabbit hole..

What turbo housing your runing? Hey mate - I'm running .63 A/R turbo housing Those are impresive dyno resluts with 0.63:) Did you had any problems pushing the boost to 1.8 bar???? I've had my head stuck in work and exams so missed this.. The key issue that I faced was with the cooling when the boos...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] How long to warm a car up?

That's great to hear - and something my neighbours are going to strongly appreciate!

Separately but somewhat related - for how long do you leave your engine running after driving (re. turbo wind down)?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] How long to warm a car up?

Thanks for the feedback. Does this mean that I can start driving straight away (as long as I stay below 3k revs)?

Does this cause no damage to the engine at all?

Cheers

[Mk2] [Turbo] How long to warm a car up?

Hi all - My tubby is highly modified and I'm wondering for how long I should warm my car up every morning before driving it?

Presently, I wait until my temp gauge hits the half way mark (normal running temp) - but is this really necessary?

My key concern is to avoid engine damage.

Cheers

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Nur Spec R alternative - advice pls

Thanks for this Nic.

What are your thoughts on the Berk dual exhaust. In earnest, I've always preferred a single exit.. but the HKS one (which has caught my eye) is a lot more expensive than the berk..

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Nur Spec R alternative - advice pls

I ordered the bung for the Nur Spec R last night (lost the one that came with it). I can't recall whether this made a difference to the db output all that much though.. I have a bung for my Blitz NUR R it does reduce the noise level quite a bit but it has a bad effect on the response of the car, I ...

This is awesome Nic - cheers! I ordered the bung for the Nur Spec R last night (lost the one that came with it). I can't recall whether this made a difference to the db output all that much though.. Would I need to get the car mapped to the new exhaust (vs the nur spec I take off) to account for dif...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Nur Spec R alternative - advice pls

Are the HKS Hi Power and HKS Silent Hi Power the same in terms of performance?

I would love to get the Silent Hi Power but it is a shiny penny to say the least. What is the cheapest anyone has seen? Or put another way, where is the best place to source one?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Nur Spec R alternative - advice pls

Gents

This has become an issue again.. I've received significant complaints and HAVE to change the exhaust before i'm on a most wanted list..

I'm veering toward the HKS Hi-Power Silent exhaust.

Thoughts?

What were the intake temps at 1.8 bar with the GReddy side mount? Hey mate - I can't recall (I should have noted this down!). I just remember temps being ridiculously high! I may be looking into this again in the next few months. Not sure yet. I am potentially considering chargecooling to replace t...

Ahhhh... nice to see this on the forum finally! This car has been.... testing! But eventually we got moving in the right direction. With some added bits getting things cooled down and a few more tweaks i'm sure we can get the power your after :thumleft: Thanks Nathan.. 500rwhp is the magic number!
