Already replaced it with an NGK one... I just answered my own question as it may help someone out who is searching.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Ignition coils & screws

I bought an NGK ignition coil from Opie Oils, seems to be working just fine.

The screws holding the ignition coil to the bracket are standard M4 - I bought some socket cap screws from Screwfix for a couple of quid. They are 16mm length but anything 15-20 should be fine.

[Mk2] [NA] Ignition coils & screws

Just inspected the ignition coil today - it's looking a bit worse for wear! Where is the best place to get a replacement? An NGK one is £29.50 on eBay - anyone used one of these? Also the screws are very rusted and don't look like they will undo so I will look at getting a new bracket for the new co...

Re: bonnet dampers? why does no one sell them!

Anyone know where I can get some gas struts for the engine lid that don't require drilling?

Re: Difficulty cold starting

Thanks, looks like the temp sensor would be a good place to start then as they are quite cheap.

Would the CTS or coil pack cause any other symptoms than cold starting problems?

Re: Difficulty cold starting

CTS is the green sensor round the back/underneath the throttle body. You'll need a deep 19mm socket to get at it. They're £14 ish from Camskill - I replaced mine recently and the old one crumbled to dust as it came out, so might be worth replacing it regardless just to be sure. Cheers. Was your coo...

Re: Difficulty cold starting

I'd be looking at a coolant temp sensor and intake temp sensor Would these show up fault codes? What will happen if they are disconnected? I found the air intake temp sensor the other day when re-fitting the airbox, not sure where the CTS is yet. The water temp on the dash is working fine - could t...

Difficulty cold starting

Hi all, My g/fs rev 5 N/A UK spec MR2 has been difficult to start since the weather started getting colder. Have just replaced the battery with a Varta, the engine turns over fine but can take many attempts to start when cold. When I finally started it yesterday the engine was a bit hesitant at abou...
