I've checked the sender and it's getting a signal.

So my speedo packed in just before I took the car off the road for winter.

I replaced the sender unit, nothing.

Replaced the dash, still nothing.

Anyone got any ideas?

I changed the original MK1 rev2 spoiler to a MK3 rev2.

There's very little chance it's popped a core plug out. I assume it had antifreeze in it? Chances are the thermostat is stuck closed. Remove thermostat housing, remove thermostat. Took the car out today and it sat two increments off the bottom all morning.

Took it out later and it climbed to halfway and stayed there perfectly.
