Yeah sorry like a pratt I hadn't actually tried to start it when I wrote the OP!

I'll try a jump and report back, you may well be right - just amazed as it's a good battery and I only had the lights on for 30 mins max while I was messing around with them.

You might be right about the temp sensor - I'm pretty sure I never unplugged that one so it might well be redundant but I'm sure when I took the bumper off the plug in the first two shots was connected. The car isn't starting at all ...
