Re: Rear tie rods? Where to buy?

Surely these can be manufactured over here at a much cheaper cost? Potentially, the two ends are 'off the shelf' items (Mk1 front steering end and the rose joint). However the centre bar may be custom fabricated and possibly the spacers too. :-k You'd have to sit down and crunch the numbers, but I ...

Re: Rear tie rods? Where to buy?

Would have to concur with Peter on this one.

I used to get a lot of parts from TwosRus but back then it was $2 to the £ and import/handling duty etc was more of a game of chance as to whether you'd get hit, but nowdays you'll get charged pretty much every time. :( Plus the postage was cheaper.

I'll work summat out, I'm not sure where Scott has asked them to put the Marquee so it'll depend a little on that.

Will check out what's happened to your premium membership.

ETA Was it part of the JAE ticket fee?

Re: JAE 2014 - Attendees List

We are going to need a bigger stand. :-k

Any volunteers for parking attendants? I can supply some very stylish hi-viz jackets.

Also I think we will have to be quite well organised with camping for once.

Re: REAR BALL JOINT QUESTION

From the EPC the Mk1a has a different part number to the Mk1b. The SCs look the same as their a/b chassis.

06/84 - 06/85 na - 43330-19036
07/85 - 07/86 na - 43330-19037
08/86 - 11/89 na - 43330-39135

1985-86 sc - 43330-19037
1986-89 sc - 43330-39135

No difference between countries.

Re: MR2 MK1a GEARBOX ISSUES

Another couple of things to check out are the integrity of the shift cables, make sure they're not split and the mounting of the gearstick itself. I've had a similar issue with a short shift kit that came loose.

Woohoo  I guess the next question then is - do you guys mind having a beat up but very cool 1969 VW camper in your area... I can understand you might not want that... I may shudder and make signs to ward off the evil eye whenever I walk past but should be able to tolerate it's presence.

Okey doke. Will see if there's somewhere else we can camp. Do we need to buy tickets through here to be eligible for hog roast on sat? Worth asking on the JAE facebook page about campervans, I have a feeling there's some leniency on that front. Or drop the organisers a message: http://www.japcarclu...
