Re: An AW10

I'd like to have a set of those AW10 doorpanels. They got that basic/cheap/less=more/lightweight/80's look like nothing else :D :clown:

Re: Yet another dumb oil filter question

A few weeks back, I ordered a new oilfilter for my 1986 AW11, and the dealer also stated this partnumber on the bill. (90915-YZZJ1)

Fits fine, works fine.

Re: Front strut brace - sunroof storage?

Yes there is, the original ones fitted to 87+ AW11's with a sunroof had one. It has a kink/curve in it so you can still store the sunroof in the frunk. It has a welded on sunroof-holding-point, which replaces one of the 2 currnetly mounted in the car. Also: the frunk conver is a slightly different, ...

Re: Mk3 Wheels

Never had any problems with tramlinning either in the last 3.5 years I've been driving on 205 tyres (205/45/16). And do keep in mind, that the stock size is always a compromise the manufacturer made between; handling, economics and being suitable for every kind of driver. (e.g. smaller tyres steers ...

Re: Steeringwheel questions....

Thx guys, that's some helpfull answers and tips for me. :D The steeringwheel I have my eye on, turned out the be 37cm (a used momo). So it should hardly be a difference I guess. I drive on 205/45/16 tyres at the moment and ain't planning on going smaller (seeing most of you guys drive on 195 or smal...

Re: Steeringwheel questions....

No-one with an aftermarket and smaller steeringwheel in their AW11, who can say something about how much heavier it steers?

Of someone with an mk1b for that matter?

Steeringwheel questions....

In the sticky topic called: mk1a vs mk1b I read the following: "MK1a steering wheel 2.5" larger than MK1b ( cheers MartG)" Now I have measured my 86 steeringwheel (mk1a) which is 38cm (15") Is the mk1b version realy only 12.5" (31.7cm) ? If so how much harder/heavier is the ...

Re: mk1a v b differences,thread locked and not correct

2.5" difference in steeringwheelsize? shouldn't that be 2.5cm or say 1" Oh and about the subwoofer: it was STD on the mk1a and mk1b in the USA. on the mk1b the rearspeaker were optional in the USA and called "premium sound package" or something similar. Probably the same i...

Re: Ltd Edition Mk1?

It's a factory paintsceme, was available on the '88 and '89 models only. Both N/A as SC.

It not a very common colour, but it isn't limited or such. Neighter is the Sherwood though (in reply to a page 1 post)

Re: Plastic trim on rear edge of boot lid - Removal

(most of) the USA AW11's didn't have those eighter.

I guess it's for anti damage/rust purposes on the bootlidedge. It does look like there is something missing when removed I think. Mostly because the black line round the taillights misses a part then. ;)

Re: Yesterday's photoshoot

As far a I know (told to me by the owner) is that the only exterior features that tell it ain't a real GTI are the sidemoldings (bigger than those on the GTI) and that the car has no rear diskbrakes.

Both are hard to notice on the photo :P

Re: Toyota Parts Catalogue Errors - Sticker Colours

It is like i said: colour of the decals, colourcode of the car. Check it with my colour: 2S8 (sherwood toning) non of those coloured AW11's is dark green over red (but the decals are green and red stripes ;) None of the decals are hard to copy due to size/form, well maybe the bird of the 87+ models ...

Re: Are strut braces only found on T-bars as standard?

Correct, because they had the straight strutbar also, due to which the sunroof woudn't fit no more ;) To be complete: MK1A: All models: no front strutbar MK1B T-bar models: straight strutbar Hardtop models: straight strutbar Sunroof models: LHD cars had a bend strutbar, RHD models had no strutbar ex...

Re: Toyota Parts Catalogue Errors - Sticker Colours

@ JRleech/Jon: I might know someone that's interested in some of you wrongly decal set, I'll check to see if the codes are the same, your now selling a set of "light blue met. 8E3" right? The partsystem isn't wrong by the way: it says the colour of the decals and the paintcode of the car t...
