Re: miles per gallon
I've got a Rev3 N/A and it does 26mpg-that's the wife using it to commute to work and us generally pottering around.

Our Clio RS200 does 28!

Re: A word of warning - Mk2 sill rust on its way for many....
I was gutted when I bought a rev 3 and found rust at the rear of the sills-I'd looked when I viewed the car too! I don't feel as conned now I know how common it is. :? I had them patched and having done a coolant change, oil, rear pads etc, I've been round the car and found a bit of rust in the corn...

Re: damn calipers...
Mmmmm, I've had my MR2 for 3 months, first thing I did was strip the brakes and copper grease the sliders, pad backs etc (had to replace 2 rubber covers over the sliders too). Noticed there's a caliper piston repair kit, are they expensive?? Found my rear pad friction material was coming away from t...

Re: damn calipers...
As I'm a bit new to MR2's, does the caliper piston sieze, or the sliders??

Re: clip
The clip I'm after, is the one at the pivot end which secures the entire rod to the engine lid.

Thanks fot the offer of the entire lid, but I only need the clip!! The wing you sold me went on a treat and matched pretty well.

Re: clip
Thanks, will order one next week when I pick up the oil I bought for a service that isn't in stock! Largest Toyota dealer in Birmingham and they've had oil on back order for over 2 weeks!! Ian. Edit-Had a look at the EPC and it looks like the clip on the body-I need the clip on the other end of the ...

Re: Brake fluid change
I nearly bought a bleed kit that would work with my compressor, but thought I'd never use it again.

Spoke to the neighbour a few days after doing the brakes and found he had one

If you live near Solihull I can lend you a 6 year old for the price of a bag of Haribo

clip
The engine cover stay/supprt (the metal bar that you clip in above the wheel arch that stops the lid falling on your head!) keeps falling out at the lid end. I went to toyota to buy another clip, but you can only buy the comlete stay for around £60. Does anyone have a picture of the clip so I can po...

Re: Brake fluid change
Did mine a couple of weeks ago, luckily?? the old fluid was dark brown, so when the new fluid came through, it's was easy to see. I got a large syringe and sucked out as much old fluid from the master cylinder resevoir, and replaced it with new, then I bled one caliper at a time (got my 6 year old t...

Re: Toblerone Bulb...
Can't remember 100%, but if you're just changing the bulb, I think you either pull it out or twist and pull.
Mine fell out as I pulled the wing off.
Think you only need to unbolt it if you're changing the lens.

Ian.

Re: Toblerone Bulb...
Mine's a UK model.
I recently swapped the wing and reckon you may need to pull the wheel arch liner down to access the bulb?

Re: Fitting a front wing, drivers side.
Hardest part I found was getting off the 2 fixings at the back of the wheel arch liner, near the bottom of the wing. The 'trim' inbetween the wing and the spoiler, is held on with 2 nuts-one of these snapped off on mine and apparently this is quite common. I drilled mine out and fitted another bolt ...

Cheers, you're right, it is scorpion!

I've contacted the manufacturer and I'm waiting to get a price for a new one.

Thanks, Ian.

[Mk2] [NA] Standard UK NA REV3 Alarm
I was given one remote with my keys when I bought my MR2. It works fine, but there's only one and it's a bit tatty. Can anyone help me identify whether it's standard? It has one button, has Toyota on the fob and inside it uses an 'old' 12v battery and it looks like the code is set by cutting tracks ...
