Simply beacuse thats how I've always set my cars up initially, then done small adujstments depending upon how the car responds ( this is based on kit cars that I've built). it'll be intersting to see how its turns out, as now theres more weight, there should be a bigger transfer under accel and dece...

Yeah I've rubber lined lined and foam filled, most ofthe tank is inside the wheel base as you say, so it'll limit the effect it has, i'll probably set up on half tank weight and go from there.

Yep all done in the garage at home, in my spare time, which isnt very spare at moment as we've jsut had our first baby. But hoping to finish it soon. In regard to balance, I'll be fitting a set of coilovers and corner weighting it, so distribution will be 50/50, althgouh with the tank over the front...

Got the front end finished today and tidied up, so its nice to see sections of the car being completed.

Cheers guys, is not been that tricky, jjust time consuming to make sure everything is thought through.
Plus i bought a fire damaged shell first to see if it would really work before going ahead with cutting into a good car

Yeah brakes are going to be interesting I've upgraded the pads and discs to ebc grooved and drilled with better pads. These will be my benchmark for testing, the brakes on the mk3 are very good to start, so with the upgrade, they'll be fairly close. Although I do have the original S8 brakes which ar...

Its about £3.5K to £4.5K of parts and whole lot of time, although if I did another it'd be a lot faster, as I know all the pit falls now :D

Oh forgot to say its an Audi 4.2 litre S8 engine, the engine has a couple of extra tweeks for the higher rpm limit over the standard 4.2.
