Bought stuff from Chris twice and both times it was absolutely spot on and cheap aswell. Always two sides to a story and I'd be careful to post up stuff like this on the internet. As a company you're always bound to lose in court as the laws in sales business to customer are quite hilarious.. You ca...
Yes that worried me a bit, however I'm not sure whether it's just "legal talk" or serious advice. They seem to put that sentence under every clutch that's not standard. Anyways, I just rang camskill and the clutch is not in stock and Exedy doesn't have it either. Peter, what clutch kit wou...
I'm looking for a replacement clutch kit for my Rev2 Turbo. I always thought the std item was a bit weak, you couldn't really bring the back round by dumping the clutch, etc. Maybe it was only down to wear, though. So I'm not sure if I should go for a new standard or an uprated one. I still want 100...
Nah, I used a crowbar and also the clutch slave cylinder. With the latter in place, I wasn't able to depress the clutch pedal fully unless I'd have applied stupid force. Battery is charged of course. I looked into the clutch fork hole with an el-cheapo endoscope and I found fresh markings on the ins...
"I think we're in a bit of a Kerfuffle here..." I refurbished my clutch slave cylinder today. All went really smoothly. Except that now, the clutch fork feels like its blocked. I can only move it about 2 cms and thats it, no "spring" feel or anything. To make matters worse...
I've got a filter removal tool in my workshop that makes getting them off sooooo easy :thumleft: +1 I've got myself one of these: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Olfilterkappe-65mm-Olfilterschlussel-Daihatsu-Toyota-Nissan-Fiat-/230742077931?pt=Spezielle_Werkzeuge&hash=item35b94cb1eb Don't know if that's...
They look pretty cool & retro Peter. As for the wobble, indeed did anyone say the wheels could be.knackered?... Never liked them on the Supra but they look just so much bigger on the MR2. At 50 pounds for 5 rims I just had to try it. 8) 16 inch and very good offset (37) too. There is also a fiv...
Regarding the oil question: The first number is how liquid the oil is at freezing temperatures, the latter number says how liquid it is at 100 degrees celsius. That means, that for cold starting in winter it makes hardly any difference if you use 5W30 or 5W50, because the oils have similar viscosity...
My impression is that you simply cannot get the wheels centered on the hub 100.00% accurately with spigot rings, especially if they're plastic ones. But also, it seems like there are hardly any people out there, who know how to balance wheels correctly. I'd strongly recommend to advice your tyre fit...
Hi, I'm from Germany and I just bought a Rev2 Tubby in the UK for above mentioned reasons. ;) Prices in Germany are higher because the MR2 is generally a much rarer car over here. I remember driving around in my NA Mk2 last summer without ever seeing another one on the road. It's even worse with tub...
Hi there, today I noticed that theres a tiny amount of play in the steering of my Mk2 that is accompanied by a little "clunking" noise when moving the steering wheel left and right quickly around center with the car stationary. I checked the inner end outer tie rod ends and the coupling in...
That somehow sounds like it could indeed be the culprit...
Are the hubs the same on all ABS cars? Or are there differences between Turbo and N/A or between different revisions?
Hmm this is weird. I'm not familiar with that process at all so can't really comment. But I guess I'll just have to wait till Monday...
BTW: Peter, you probably even know the car. It's a tin-top Rev2 Tubby that used to belong to a chap called Matt from Nottingham.
same part number for 8912-9908 Bearing (for rear axle shaft LH )SW20 so it's the right part. Guess he should try fitting it again I'm talking about the actual wheel bearing in the hub, not the drive shaft bearing. Still, according to ToyoDIY I've got the correct one. All the dealers like Fensport/C...
