Re: Mr2 Super Edition, SC white over gold for sale , i'm nothing to do with it!

Actually I think, the second hand car climate being what it is, that price does need to come down. Just because very few people have the dosh to buy anything, and £4K gets a lot of newer car at the moment. T Yep I agree. And if you look at it another way. Enthusiasm should NOT come down to price. J...

Re: Mr2 Super Edition, SC white over gold for sale , i'm nothing to do with it!

Agreed.. I'm waiting for the day that us Mk1 owners stop giving our cars away as numbers are getting thinner and thinner every year. Well that's the thing you see. I like the mk1 to own, to drive and to enjoy 'forever' not to sell on/to make profit so I don't ever think about what the resale value ...

Re: Mr2 Super Edition, SC white over gold for sale , i'm nothing to do with it!

There are MANY amazing used cars out there for the £2 - £3k mark, most of which are at least 5 maybe ten years newer and less rusty than a mk1 MR2. Hey you don't need to tell me, I'm a massive mk1 fan (obviously), I understand why people desire them and understand why they can't be compared like for...

Re: How much!!!! Rear TOYOTA spoiler

But when you tell them "it's a Toyota MR2" they say "lol no way, can't be a Toyota" Funnily enough that was what I said when I first saw a mk1 one almost.... 20 years ago. This mate of a mate had one and we walked over to it and I asked.. "what's that a Ferrari?" (haha...

Still can't believe people are charging twice as much for SCs as what they went for almost ten years ago... and people pay!

These are not Ferraris.

Re: How much!!!! Rear TOYOTA spoiler

I've got 2 of these now 'spare' also... not rare at all. I took the stickers off of one of mine and it looks a lot cleaner/modern tbh, but it's nice to be able to swap on the stickered one for a bit of authenticity now and then ;) Yeah, ebay is ridiculous sometimes with the prices people pay or peop...

Re: Spotted on Gumtree

"recently restored"

Aye, except for the missing mudflaps which spells bodged arches to me. Maybe not but if you are going to that trouble at least make sure you can re-mount the mudflaps - I can't stand the look of the rear without them it looks unfinished IMO.

Re: Laying up - advice please

Before mine was laid up (though did have infrequent moving - say once every 2 months up and down the drive) about 2 years ago, and left to idle for 20 mins every month etc... I had some toyo proxes put on (just before it failed the MOT on chassis rust) this was in 2006 ish. It has been sat on them -...

I'm still jealous of that finish you got... and slightly sickened that I completely pulled mine to bits for scrapping instead of sorting it out. :(

Damn my lack of welding/painting skills.

Re: Super Charger Big Pulley Kit?

Hi, I also did the 'cheap hack' method of ABV mod and it's been fine but would also like to do it 'properly' now the engine is out being done up ready to go into a new body (whenever that is). Also I was suprised to find my FENSPORT tensioner (OS pulley) to be in very good shape (fitted in 2001!) I ...

Re: the WORST modification thread

Karmeleon = - I agree with the poster further up, it looked like the designers took some spare plasic from an industrial refrigerator manufacturers factory and glued them on to look as daft as possible. I don't know how anyone can rate it highly. The problem with sleepy eyes is that it just l...

oops. I wish, there would no doubt be more around in good condition had they been made at the tail end of the 90's. Will correct to the proper date.

thanks

Conversion to SC wouldn't be a problem as you would be replacing the ECU and engine loom along with the engine anyway :thumleft:

OK thanks a lot for the confirmation. :)

Re: SC Conversion differences for pure MK1b and MK1b 'Crossover'

right. Thanks. So. Can anyone who has owned a crossover mk1b confirm that the ONLY difference between a pure mk1b and a crossover Mk1b (other than the changes we know of through the years on MK1bs in general) is that it has an earlier 4age and a C50 tranny but is otherwise a mk1b. Sorry to be so ped...

Re: SC Conversion differences for pure MK1b and MK1b 'Crossover'

Ok thanks, it kind of answers a couple of questions but it wasn't really mk1A vs mk1B . It's most definitely mk1B i'm talking about but those early 1987 mk1Bs that just happened to have the mk1a Engine and Tranny but everything else (suspensions/brakes etc) as a MK1B as far as I know. Basically I al...

SC Conversion differences for pure MK1b and MK1b 'Crossover'

I wondered if anyone knows that should I happen upon a 'crossover' MK1 (MK1b but with MK1a engine/box) if there are any.. ANY other differences that would make an sc conversion different to a 'pure' MK1b? I've done the conversion before on a pure mk1b and it was pretty easy, I'm wondering if there a...
