Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car looses power after 10 mins?? Any ideas??

OK, so I used the BGB as a reference and checked the resistance of the ECU Coolant Sensor, when cold and when warm, and the readings are as the book. So we can rule out the sensor. Its feeding the signal to the ECU as well, cos pulling the connector off nearly stalls the engine when cold. What about...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Where is the cold start injector switch on a REV 3

Thanks, I thought that may have been the case, which begs the, perhaps dumb question, do Rev 3-5 have a cold start injector?

I'm trying to narrow down some running problems. If there is no cols start injector it would make life an awful lot easier :D Having no AFM also makes fault finding easier :D

[Mk2] [Turbo] Where is the cold start injector switch on a REV 3

Exactly as the title. I've seen photos of N/A and Rev 1 Tubbys, but on my Rev 3 the switch just ain't there. All I can see is the 2 Temp sensors for ECU and dash.

My car is having problems and I'm just trying to fault find.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car looses power after 10 mins?? Any ideas??

I found the sensor..... I think, But my Rev 3 Turbo coolant pipe isn't anything like the ones shown. It only has one sensor on it. Where are the Coolant temp and Cold start switch sensors on a REV 3?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car looses power after 10 mins?? Any ideas??

Which temp sensor is that? There are a lot on the engine. I could test it with the multimeter following the BCB, if I knew which one.

I'm asking cos I'm colour blind, and I'll struggle picking out a green one from a grey one.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Car looses power after 10 mins?? Any ideas??

OK, kinda long, but I wanna be as helpful as I can with information. So driving to work, all cosy and warm in my car. Pull out from the lights after 10 mins of driving and the car starts stuttering and running well rough, like I'm pulling off from the lights in 5th, not 1st. The engine would rev but...

Re: MR2 Mk2 NA - As much fun as a tubby?

Sorry, your wrong..... ....raise the level at which it breaks away.... ....inexperienced drivers in the wet ..... So it improves the stability of the car then :D :D Yeah, your right though, any inexperienced driver, in the wet, can skid a car. Its not the fault of the MR2 Turbo though, is it? So yo...

Re: MR2 Mk2 NA - As much fun as a tubby?

Having owned (and driven HARD :D ) a 3SGE and 3SGTE (N/A and Turbo) The turbo is far, far better. You can enjoy the drive more because you have the power to pass slow moving traffic and not get stuck in queues. Plus the power band is very wide (nearly twice the torque in a turbo), unlike the N/A. Pl...

Sorry, the reverse lights don't come on. What I mean, is that it passed a continuity test on the multimeter when the reverse gear was engaged.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Reverse Lights don't work (fuse, switch, bulbs ok)

Yeah, I've checked the switch. like I said, I've followed the fault finding guide from the knowledge base. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the loom.

[Mk2] [Generic] Reverse Lights don't work (fuse, switch, bulbs ok)

OK, pretty much as the title. I checked the knowledge base article, regarding fault finding the reverse lights. I checked my bulbs, both ok. I checked the fuse, its fine. I checked the switch & bridged the connector during testing. OK. So what else is there? I've been going through this again an...

I don't know why on earth you'd pay that much for an elbow, when a complete berk downpipe, with flexi section, fitting kit, gaskets and mount, From GTS Chris, s is only £129.00... A shocking £55 cheaper for twice as much.

[Mk2] [Generic] Where do I get these strips?

So I'm taking off my bomex style front bumper and taking it back to standard. Problem is I NEED these little pieces that go infront of the toblerones. My car paint is 202 Astral Black. Does anyone know the part number, I could order these from Mr T if I had too. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3180/2...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] decat + one bolt = >:(

Hi, I spent last weekend doing the exact same job. Took me 8 hours, and now the engine runs hot. But it sounds awesome :D I used a long 14mm Socket (sparkplug socket length) on a 1/2" drive, if we're talking bottom left (marked as 2). I used stepped ring spanner on number one though. http://www...
