Re: Do I want a rev 4 turbo t-bar?

Rev 3-5 turbo's are the same engine so as reliability goes it depends on the how well the car has been looked after not the revision, Personally id wait for a clean rev 3 turbo (94), means you can decat it too and still pass your mot :thumleft:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Boost gauge advise / options

Grab a few meters of 4mm silicone hose, I once used Halfords washer tubing and that used to heat up and collapse and the gauge behaved just like yours, I thought I was the only person daft enough but a few people have done the same on here

You sure the tubing isn't getting softer when it gets warm and collapsing in on itself under vacuum?

Re: mr2 turbo buy

Sounds like its going to be a right dog, if someone cant afford to keep her and can sell for 1600 quid then its probably been maintained on the cheap and will probably turn into a money pit, some pictures and more details are needed for a conclusive opinion though.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Suspension broke :(

Take it out as a whole easy enough to do and then you can give it a good look over, could have it out have a look and then back in within the hour. For the price of a new spring cup and other stuff you may need, a second hand set might be a decent option always some for sale.

If your having trouble finding a mr2 what isn't rotting good luck with the 200sx which is notorious for rot.

Re: Where have all the Rev3(+) Turbos gone?

best thing to do is keep checking imoc, pistonheads, ebay and don't rush into it there is plenty around, took me 12 months of looking then 3 popped up at once got beaten to one then went to look at another on the off chance and turned out to be a very clean rev3. As said before there seems to be a f...

Re: blitz nur spec r exhaust for the mr2 turbo with baffle cause alot backpressure

I would be careful with a bung on a blitz nur spec, it could create too much back pressure and it can cause the engine to run backwards.

Re: Standard turbo exhaust max power?

I like the mongoose up to about 70mph then it drones like mad, if i go aftermarket that will be my choice. Ill probably end up biting the bullet and going for it just driving around in a quiet mr2 is a bit of a novelty at the moment

Standard turbo exhaust max power?

My new turbo has a standard exhaust which im quite enjoying as ive always had uprated ones on my cars of old which would drone on the motorway.
If i add a air filter, intercooler, decat will i have a problem running it at 1.0-1.2 bar? its a rev 3.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Vtv valve required for aftermarket bov?

Yeah no worries got loads of bits n bobs to put it on with and bung pipe up, thinking about getting a small length on 80mm pipe and sticking a K&n on it to replace stock airbox anyway. Saves paying 150 for a induction kit.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Vtv valve required for aftermarket bov?

Just a quick one is the vtv valve required for my greddy bov as I broke mine when removing pipework.
For those that done know the vtv is the small plastic valve next to the standard bov that controls the flow of air to the bov.
Cheers :thumleft:
