Have you tested the battery with a multimeter?

I had a reconditioned alternator that was screwed as soon as it arrived, although it took a few hours to drain the battery.

If you say it's dead almost immediately, you'll be able to see the voltage dropping with a multimeter.

I've never heard of wheel bearings being tightened before. If they are 'loose' they need to be replaced.

Changing a rear wheel bearing should have no effect on the steering wheel position either. Very strange indeed...

Annoyingly the spigot rings on the Lenso's were for a VW and were only 3mm out, but that's quite a significant distance in the engineering world so I've ordered some new ones in the correct size. Just need to find some suitable nuts now. I wonder if I take the old ones into a fabrication engineer they'll have something that would work, as they'll still need to be tapered.

Ok I've just picked up some Lenso BSX alloys and tyres for a bargain. They look awesome but my original wheel nuts are too long and I now can fit the centre pieces on!

It's definitely interesting! It doesn't look much like an MR2 anymore but I think it looks quite cool - apart from the rear lights! And I wonder what the bonnet vents are for? Maybe for when your spare wheel gets too hot?
