Is it possible to tell if you have a hybrid turbo from just looking at it? Been told that the CT26 looses boost towards the redline but mine seems to hold the boost so was just wondering if it was maybe a hybrid turbo.
Managed to get a pic of the intake side while fiddling with my intake pipe if this helps? -
Thanks

looks standard to me, it's easier to tell when the turbo has been removed...

sure it's a ct26 and not a ct20b, just a thought cause it's been a while since i looked at the differences etc...
the hybrids ive dealt with were honed out and had more blades...

has CT26 on the Turbo
Cant be bothered removing it but will when it dies . Its running fine right now so dont want to fiddle too much

How much boost are you running ?
The CT26 will be fine on stock boost

My old standard 26 on the left and the old fensport stage 3 hybrid 26 on the right
The picture of yours definatly looks like my old standard 26, smaller and less blades.
I always used to think my standard 26 ran to the redline, you only notice the difference when you swap for something better.

Does look standard, it is hard to tell though. How many hoses are there to the actuator? My old standard CT26 had 2, my stage2 hybrid has 1.

CT26 will hold stock boost levels fine, it's when the boosts been raised that it tails off (from about 5.5k)

My boost has been raised, 1.0 bar and sometimes it hits 1.1 bar.
Will see how many pipes are going to the actuator.

Does the Hybrid still use Ceramic parts??
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Possible to tell if you have a Hybrid turbo?
All the hybrids that I know of use steel not ceramics.
