[Mk2] [Generic] Insurance renewal time

Post by James7 »

I currently have a Mk2 N/A which currently has no mods but I intent to put on a Rev 5 spoiler, Mongoose exhaust with decat (plus possibly downpipe) and fit an aftermarket steering wheel. I am currently with Admiral who will let me carry out only 5 mods. Can anyone recommend any other insurance companies who would allow these types of mods. I know that the big boys tend not to allow any mods but who would. Having carried out a quick search, I will probably try the following:

1. Bell Direct
2. Elephant
3. Tesco
4. Adrian Flux
5. Hyperperformance
6. A-Plan

Can anyone recommend any others??

Thanks :thumleft:

Cant tell you about the others but my insurance is through Adrian Flux (they're just the broker of course) and I currently have all mods declared (see my garage) which totals about 10 I think. Try a call to them and also try Sky as well.

elephant are useless.

any engine work and the foreign lady on the other end of the phone will say:

" no sirs,we cannot insure this modifications as it would then make the car a sports car sir"

they recognise alloy wheels, but mention ecu's dumpvalves or intercoolers youve no chance...... ](*,)

cheap, but they dont actually insure your mods either, if they get damaged they are repalced with standard components :pale:

Yeah but they wont help if you only have the one car... it's part of their classic policy conditions.
Still might be useful for some though.
