Some info on TDI - if you have never heard of them...
Torque Developments International PLC.
Torque Developments was established in around 1984 as a specialist vehicle engineering operation to fulfil a demand for a high level of technical and practical expertise within the racing and high performance road car sectors.
Outstanding Capabilities.
From inception we were developing and offering products that were entirely new to the market place such as properly designed and tested performance packages.
Having the first 4 wheel drive chassis dynamometer in the country, an airflow test rig and engine dynamometer enabled us to produce some outstanding products and services. We even went to the extent of designing and manufacturing new cylinder head castings in the early 1990s!
We acquired PLC status in the mid 1990s to differentiate ourselves from other companies in our sector. Even today we remain the only company of this stature, but our corporate strength underlies our culture of being a friendly and approachable company to do business with.
We were the first company to realise the potential of Japanese cars in the late 1980s when we became the importers for HKS (the most famous of the big Japanese brands). Today we are still one of the biggest suppliers of Japanese parts, and are the tuner of choice for those customers requiring a high level of expertise and service.
In addition to our outstanding work with Japanese cars, we have comprehensive experience and skills with many of the European brands.
We are constantly allocating resources for research and development to hone our knowledge and skills to ensure that our finished products meet our desire for engineering excellence. For this reason we have a heavy re-investment programme to ensure that we have the latest equipment.
In Pole Position.
Some notable industry firsts are:
* The 1st Tuner in the UK to have a 4wd dyno
* The 1st Tuner in the UK to modify Japanese cars
* The 1st (and still only) tuner in the UK to acquire PLC status
* The 1st tuner in the UK to install a Rototest dyno
* The 1st tuner in the UK to offer facilities in multiple locations
* The 1st (and still only) tuner in the UK to offer freephone 0800 facilities
* The 1st Tuner in the UK to gain Automotive Technician Accreditation
