Dont expect wonders from that Wharfedale headunit.
Re: The first few days of ownership
I didn't but its amazing. And I am a hifi nut.
Recommended. Will get a pic soon. It suits the MK1 dash and fits without having to trim the surround.

I like my stock speakers
At 80mph there's to much windnoise anyway

Surprizingly the stock speakers are not that bad. The Tape player is what really lets the sound down.
I have been there before with expensive speakers. I may keep it simple this time.
My old 2 setup.

Re: The first few days of ownership
I am going to respray the car panel at a time. The colour is very slightly off but I don't care as it will all be done soon.

Re: The first few days of ownership

Re: The first few days of ownership

Re: The first few days of ownership
I just giving it a tidy up for now. I will have the skirts off in the warmer weather. I don't want to face any horrors at the moment. I like to blend the rubber in with the final paint job.
The last owner didn't even bother to take the indicators and side strips off. Had paint all over them.
I love tinkering in the garage.
This was my last one I sprayed. Wish I kept it.

Re: The first few days of ownership
I suppose its a matter of taste with the head unit. I like it. The tape was driving me mad.

Re: The first few days of ownership
what do you paint with just cans or do you have a little compressor and spray gun in the garage? that red one looks nice although ive always liked the red ones the most.
Re: The first few days of ownership
I tried a cheap compressor and gun, it was naff. I think you need professional gear if you are going to use a gun. And its a lot of faffing about with filters and settings.
I get a good enough finish using cans. At least the pressure and mix is right in a can.
I would love a go in a paint shop with a proper setup.
