I'm coming from Wilmslow (nr South Manchester) which can't be any further.

Its a 3 day event make a long weekend of it, convoy down with us if you like. The drive down is all part of the adventure. :+:

The organisers just haven't given thought to this. They're panicked, and chosen the first venue suggested to them. It's a real knee-jerk reaction.

I'm out... :(

Absolute rubbish Earl. Cant see that two days with a bit of salty air is going to turn your car to rust. Sounds like everything we need is on site anyway, so shouldn't be too much of an issue. Don't most venues have one road in, one road out?

It may not be rubbish to you Lauren, but it is for me. I live miles further away from it than you.

I think there will be a lot less people this year. I know the TwoBrutal boys aren't going for just that reason.

Okay understandably you have a lot further to travel but its do-able in a day really isn't it?

Tbh I relish a drive to the Nurburgring and that is a fair bit further. It can't be more than two hours on from Peterborough, plus you've got 3 days.

I think its a real pity that people won't make the effort to drive another 100miles. Surely if you are into cars this is all part of the adventure?

All British roads have salt on them at some point.

Not all events can be arranged in a 50 mile radius of everyone.

Should be a great weekend. :thumleft:

Only in the winter, and some of us do not drive our cars in the winter or the wet :thumleft:

Maybe not in a 50 mile radius but central would have been nice :(

If people can't be ar$ed to make the effort to go to a show, then there is no point nagging them. Their call at the end of the day.

I know, but really I think it is a crying shame that some members have become all 'stubborn' about the location of the new show. I for one would like as many members as possible to make it.

I just do not understand their reasoning. Cars are for driving, i love driving, love long trips, if it was in scotland i would still go (mind you thats probably not much further than Mersea for me!). I'm absolutely happy to spend 5 hours getting there, i'll just leave a couple of hours earlier, no issue with that.

JAE is the highlight of the year show wise, its a great opportunity to put names to faces which is certainly going to be my mission this year and also a great social to boot. :+:

244miles according to the AA, extra 40 each way. It's all motorway cruise too.

C'mon Glen it'd be good to see ya there, it's not that much further. If you normally go to Peterborough via the M4/M25 then there's only 6 miles difference.

Just added us to the list - we are now new to JAE, been for the past 3 years - so this will be the 4th!

Still quite new here aswell - not sure as yet but we have a few Toyota's and belong to another club too, so might have one of the other cars on a different stand.

Hope everyone is friendly ;) hehe.

EDIT: Oh and despite having a tent & the camping equip for it after the wash out that was last year we've decided to drive home for the night & come back the next day as it's in the same County as us now.

Flipping eck just realised where JAE is this year, sorry but I have had my blonde head on for a couple of months now, just starting to wake up again. Split up with my partner for the last 9 years, living in the caravan you can see in the background in my workshop. Mersea Island is where I used to live, I had a houseboat on the front for years and worked in the marine industry there. I live not that far away in Suffolk now. I will do my utmost to get there with my MR2 as well. Not sure about camping and if my MR2 doesn't make it back on the road in time I may have to bike it over on my Bandit.
