I dont know much about carbon fibre moulding, butttt.... If you can make a fibreglass one, then coat it in carbon, how come you cant coat the fibreglass mould in PVA before coating on the carbon, so therefore the carbon 'skin' can be pulled off the fiberglass thus making a 100% carbon cowling?? Kinda like how they make new fiberglass parts off a mould... :-k

It was that bad I took it straight off and into 'storage'...

thanks for the reply mate - straight to "storage" tells me all I need to know - there was a guy on ebay a couple of weeks ago selling them in fiberglass boy am I glad I gave it a miss !!!! the picture on ebay was the same one some one had posted on the previous page.
Hopefully Ben will be able to come up with a nice product for us.

Hi guys quick update on the cowlings. At the moment we are really really busy so im not going to be able to look into the design till early next year. I'll keep you all posted on the progress as and when we get round to it.

Im not too sure on the in's and out's of the carbon process im the 'retail' guy but i'll ask the lads who do the work and let you know. The only thing I would say is if we can make a 100% carbon one it'll be alot more expensive than the fibreglass coated in carbon product.

Hi, yes we have. The cowling is in the workshop at the moment we are hoping that we'll have the design ready soon, i'll update this thread with photos and details once we are happy with the final product :thumleft:

Mould should be complete this week, all being well I should have the first one to test on my car within a couple of weeks :thumleft:

thats great, id definatly be after one of these, obviously the carbon covered fiberglasss one. looked at mine the other day and it has all faded and needs replacing. looking forward to these :)
