Post by THE DUKE »

Ok i'm on / off working on my car at the mo, one of the things that needs addressing is the different connectors (Rev 4 loom rev 1 sensors). I have pic's of all the sensors that i'm unsure of. Any help would be good!!

6 wire connector near fuel pump relay

2 wire connector near dizzy

Single wire connector near water housing

Green (Yellow insert) connector near water housing

ok,this is the way i remember it goes (please correct if i'm wrong guys)
1)TVIS plug
2)Goes to sensor on rear of water housing
3)goes to temp sensor on front of water housing
4)poss oil pressure
5)I.C. fan plug
6)EGT or O2 sensor plug (will only go one way afaik)
this is from memory so some may not be clear LOL.

yeah i'm in the same postition at the mo, the ones near the swirl pot are gonna be water temp(green) temp sender(single wire) oil pressure(single wire)

i'm stuck on the four near the fuel pump aswel.

i'll get my old rev1 out and have a look,

in the mean time if anyone with a rev3+ could take some photos that would be great.

thanks karam

any idea what the first picture is for?

there is also a blue one near the fuel relay that would usualy got to solenoid for the charcoal canister, shouldnt be a problem not using this?

also any of you with knowledge on removing the charcoal cannister please post up or pm, i jsut dont fancy leaving the hoses to vent.

hey duke pm me your email i have a rev1 loom and a rev3 here in pieces, i'll send you photos of what i have found.

so far i have to change one of the round rev1 injector resistor pack connectors from my old loom onto the new rev3 wich has an oval plug.

again with the plug on the alternator but this may be different pending the type of alternator you use,

also the knock sensor plug is different on mine.

i have got rid of the boost control plug and the air con idle up plug. also have got rid of the air con pump and the cat temp.

it seems straight forward but i am now down to one connector i cannot account for.

right sorry to be so long on this post. its just inside the engine near the grommet where the loom splits, one to go to the fuse box and the other route is to the injectors.

there is a 3 wire oval plug there on the rev3 loom but on the rev1 there is also a 3 wire but a triangle plug but there is no length of wire, it just pops out of the heatshrink, as if you actualy plug into the plastic cover on the loom

anymore questions or if you dont understand what i've ranted on about them mail me.

pm me your address and i'll send some detailed photos over.

ooooo just realised that first picture of yours is the round one on the rev1 loom, the colours on the cables match so just put your old connector on it.

ok here are the ones i can see to be different with pictures.

knock sensor, one on the left is the old rev1 and right is rev3
Image

rissistor pack, again left old right new
Image

dunno what this is, but its on the rev3 loom,
Image

this one is in the same place as the above one?
Image

and finaly the alternator
Image

like i have said before, i removed the air con idle up, and the boost controler plug.

hope this helps.

yeah thats a fantastic site, i've always wondered what ever happened with that project.
