[Mk2] [Turbo] Important announcement

Post by 3S Service Centre »

Hi guys!

Check your boost!

Its getting cold out there, cold dense air = more boost, 3 calls in 1day talking about symptoms that very much sound like upset/damaged knock sensors.

You've been warned!.

Si the link does not have a "safe mode" although though you map as air temp correction on the boost control but if it is going higher than 1.4 all you have to do is turn down the volume knob :thumleft:

The AIT correction works spot on with the LINK :thumleft: Not only will it adjust the boost control solenoid however you want it (pre defined + or - at whatever inlet temp you set it to it'll also trim the fueling map & ignition map AIT dependant. No knock worries :thumleft:

Hi

Yes if the boost is controlled by the powerfc.

What you need to do is going onto the commandor, Get it back to the Monitor, setting and etc window

Select Settings

Then BOOST

The setting which is highlighted, lower the boost value and your boost should drop

Any probs feel free to give us a ring

Great post James

If any members with powerfc's are seeing the ecu light flashing when boosting since the temp change i would suggest contacting your mapper for a check up or tweak.

Quick question to those in the know - excluding all the horror stories about extra power and being the wrong time of year - is now the best time of year to set up my MBC? Given the cold air would it be better to do it now rather than wait for spring.
