[Mk2] [Turbo] Whats it worth for insurance agreed value please?

Post by unyonion »

Ok guys a quick one hopefully, I am just sorting out my agreed value with Sky (+£70 quid these days!!) and wondering on a rough idea of 'value'
Now the bodywork isn't great i.e. the bumpers & skirts fitting etc. but everything else is good condition. They will all be sorted fairly soon hopefully so bodywork will be 'perfect'. Last december I killed my last rev 3 tubby with most of the same stuff on with an agreed value of £6250 so is it roughly the same? any ideas please.

So a rough spec:

1994 GTS T-Bar
Sard front bumper, veilside skirts n rear, rev 5 spoiler

BK Racing 17 Alloys wheels
Lowered 30mm on unknown springs
Front & Rear strut braces
EBC grooved dimpled & vented disks with redstuff pads, braided lines & red calipers

Sard K27 Turbo kit (tubular manifold, Sard racing dump valve, 3" d/pipe, ext w/gate & screamer)
Greddy I/C & hard pipes
Greddy Power Extreme stainless exhaust
Splitfire leads & Irridium plugs
450ftlbs RPS clutch
Fidanza Flywheel

HID lights & crystal clear side/indicators.
Modded rev 3 rears with 4 light setup

Blue LED'd dash & interior with Lockwood white dials and boost/water temp gauges

Various other stuff

Total mods = £7500

Car cost = £4000

Except you've got no chance of getting anywhere near that.

Just a guess but i'd say 3.5-4K.

The mods add nothing to the value. Also if you do bin it, unless it burns out you will always be able to get the modded stuff off the car.

Yeah I'd say £4k-ish. My insurance company only offered me £3450 for my modded clean rev 3 turbo which I crashed back in August. That had only done 67k miles.

sky pay out the agreed value and keep the car. mines agreed for 7k.

dont know anyone who has got less than their agreement. find a figure you think, sk sky if they will agree to it. if not then ask what they will agree to.

We have indeed stopped doing the agreed value for new business. Any existing customers who had the agreed value policy last year can still get this if they renew with us.

Any modifications will be covered on a like for like basis.

We are hopefuly to have the agreed value scheme back from next year.

Any questions, please pm me! :thumleft:

Personally, I would try for £6k. Its always a guess re. market value...

Mine is down at £9k agreed valuation, bought for £7,400 and I've spent over £10k on it, not that that matters - just to give an idea.
