Post by Tiger Tim »

Anyone know what these rear arch repair panels on E-bay are like - anyone fit one or a bit of one.

The radius part of it apparently fits really well (no first hand experience of this) - however they seem expensive if you ask me as you will still need the A & C sections from JDG panels. I think these used to be sold as a pair, making them more reasonable. Why not use the Nissan Cherry arch repair sections (cost roughly £30 for a pair delivered), still need modification but work out a bit cheaper. HTH

Query

Post by Tiger Tim »

HT,

Excuse me ignorance but what are the A + C panels. Are they the lower panels in front & behind the wheel. Is some of them included in this panel.

Just bought the MR2 recently but have heard mention of the Cherry arches. Is the radius fairly close to the MR2. Also can you recommend a supplier - I'm in Ireland so postage will be a bit extra.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi - this page on the mr2 mk1 club website explains the A, B, & C sections of the arch repair sections. http://www.mr2mk1club.com/panels.html

Arch repair panels are found here: http://bap.dominohosting.biz/bap/bapdb0 ... 2%2082-86) I think this is right as they list three versions of the Cherry model. Under a tenner per side, cheap as chips  HTH

I've got these repair panels fitted to mine the guy that sells them is from Germany, Peter Sohngren, he's a really helpful guy. The bodyshop that fitted mine were quite impressed with the quality of the panels said they were a slightly heavier gauge of metal to what they'd seen before.

Here's before

and after

I've just used the cherry arches with good results, especially considering I've never done any bodywork on a car before, ever. Have a look at the thread I had running while I did it. It looked dodgy at first but turned out fine in the end. Also, welding them on would probably be better than the methos I used I think, only time will tell...
