CF Border Bonnet...

Post by JappyBeast »

I know this one is getting long in the tooth but I have been in contact with someone on eBay who is selling them for $388 which is about £200

They say "Hi Andy,
Shipping to your location for door to door service is $320.00 including insurance. If you want to find another buyer, we can ship two hoods to you in one box and the shipping fee is only $400 for two hoods."

So thats about £300 all in for each bonnet.

I just want to know why they cant be that price over here.

you will have to add import duties to your price Mate. I might be interested if the do a oem style bonnet - then thats the 2 orders you need.

I dont want to be a wet blanket but if you add the vat and 7% on top of the £300 you arent to far from what they sell for here if you shop around and plus if there is a problem with it at least you can get it sorted here and not wind up potentially sending it back to the U.S.A.
If you can get enough people interested and get a good discount for maybe 10 bonnets then maybe it would be a bit more viable.

If we can get a list up of interested people and the styles they want this week I will contact Jamie again at the weekend - please remember that at the moment this is just to find out how many people are interested and what styles they want so we can get a decent price quote its NOT actually buying time just now.

again I want a border bonet. Don't care where it comes from or if it's original or a copy so long as the fit is bang on, CF is good quality and even and that the price is OK.

I'm going to paint it to match the car any way...

If you're going to paint over it, would you not go with fibreglass ? Darryn has/had one from Replikit and seemed pleased with it
