Trim around interior door handle

Post by toxo »

Hi All,

I've noticed that a lot of people break the piece of trim that goes around and behind the door handle on the inside of the door. Certainly when I bought my car they were broken, and I've seen it on a lot of others. Every time I ask someone who's breaking a car for them, they seem to be broken. It's caused by people taking the doors apart (for whatever reason, be it glass replacement, loom troubleshooting, speaker installation etc) and then screwing the plastic back on too tight.

I've spoken to my local toyota garage and they'll give me 15% off. It hardly seems worthwhile considering they're only £7.16 + vat each, but I thought it best to pass the discount on! Note: These are black ones, not blue.

The guy has said £6.09 + vat each, which by my calculations makes them £7.16 each inc vat, or £14.32 inc vat for a pair. Obviously that doesn't include delivery from me to you, although I doubt it would be more than a couple of quid and if it helps I am intending to go to JAE this year.

I guess people will only take me up on this if they are perfectionists like me and having broken bits of trim irritates them :)

Sweet (the discount - as a Mk1 owner, I'm not too interested in Mk2 door handles!) - is this the Mr T in Milton Keynes? Are you trying to get just a personal discount or an IMOC discount?

Obviously an IMOC discount would be great, but at the very least I can always get bits for other people... we shall see

Jeff buys a HUGE amount of parts to negotiate his 25% discount, good luck, but I doubt you'll better 15% without some SERIOUS throughput.
