who's in scotland ??

Post by OriRacer »

Hi all

I was just wondering who all in scotland might need some advice on getting driver sil return welded.

Recommendations of where to get this done in the Edinburgh area are welcomed.

I'm from Edinburgh

Hence the name Al-fi-Embra

In answer to your question I haven't yet found a body shop that I would definately recommend, I've used a couple of different places but neither were that good that I wouldn't try elsewhere. A lot depends on what level of finish you are trying to achieve, if it's just basic welding that will patch a hole that is out of site or covered by side skirts etc then I know a guy that does a bit of welding for cash. But if it's more extensive stuff that needs a good finish then sorry can't help you.

I'm over the west side of town in Baberton, but up in Aberdeen through the week. Hope to have mine back on the road after a suspension rebuld by June so might see you if your around town in the summer.

From West Lothian

Only recently got an MR2 again but the guy I bought it off had the sills and rear arches done by Dunwell Coachworks in Edinburgh and they seem to have done a really good job.

Cheers

Yeh I would only be looking for a weld, I just bought a compressor and a tent with the plan to respray the mr2 and some bit on my corolla GXI.

I nice to see I'm not the only mk1 one boy in the east.

Once the sil return is sorted the car will be going straight for a MOT.

I will give 'Dunwell' a phone as you are the second person to recommend them ;)

Yo dude I'm in edinburgh

My housemate (and fellow MR2 nutjob) might be able to help you out with the welding side of things.

our tinternet connection is down at the moment but should be up next week - send me a PM and I'll ask him if he can help you out - I'm sure he'll be grateful for a wee bit extra work!

Nice to see another member in Scotland.

We are having a meet in Aberdeen on 5.5.07 so get yourself along and meet lot of MR2 owners.

See you there if you get the MOT done.

Buy hey if not you can always come on the September trip round the highlands.
