Just picked my car up from having cambelt done.. its nothing like the power it was when i put my foot down. Is this due to the timing not being set up correctly or.. by any stretch of the imagination.. does it just need to bed in or somethin?!

The belt will not need bedding in at all. If it does not feel like it should its quite likely that the timing is out.
When i had mine changed there was no difference at all from before and after getting it changed.

it thought that would be the case, just clutching at straws!

Sounds like you are a tooth out on the belt. This happened to mine and had to go back in to do it all again!!
Get it back to the mechanic.

yep, was a tooth out, it gotta go back! doh PITA!

Luckily, these engines don't bend valves if the timing is out. On many cars there would have been serious internal damage if the same mistake had been made!!
